According to Amber Heard, JK Rowling was involved in the sale of Johnny Depp’s boat.

After hearing Johnny Depp’s argument in his $50 million defamation lawsuit against ex-wife Amber Heard over her 2018 Washington Post op-ed for weeks, the court has started hearing Heard’s rebuttal this week. The Aquaman actress has testified under oath about many allegations of physical abuse, including a story about a yacht Depp allegedly sold to Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling.

Amber Heard shared an alleged instance of abuse from July 2013 during the trial, broadcast live on Court TV on Wednesday. According to Heard’s evidence, Depp would sell his yacht to the bestselling novelist, with whom he later collaborated on the 2018 film Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald. As she puts it:

Johnny was disappointed that he had to sell his boat and was back on the wagon, but he didn’t want to tell his children, so he kept it a secret. He has put it in coffee cups and drank it, and his behavior was like he was upset. He was emotional, and drinking was his way of dealing with it. But there has no way to turn Johnny off. So he just kept drinking, and his behavior became increasingly noticeable.

Amber Heard claimed that she, Johnny Depp, his daughters Lily-Rose and Jack, and another helper went out for a final “Dieu” on the yacht. He was preparing to sell, and he began drinking heavily and disguising it from his young children. She claimed they were all having fun flinging themselves into the water until Depp “jumped off in a face-chest-forward fashion.” Which she didn’t think was appropriate. She went on to say, “It looked a little scary, the way his body fell into the water, and Lily-Rose started crying, and then the crying became almost like a panic attack, rapid breathing, crying, lots of questions. I’m holding her, comforting her, and Johnny comes in, and within a few seconds, I realized he shifted his attention to me and seemed very angry.”
Lily-Rose was 14 at the time the alleged family trip went wrong. According to their relationship timeline, it was the summer before Depp and Heard married in early 2015. Amber Heard said that the incident caused Lily-Rose to cry and resulted in a confrontation: He requested Lily-Rose go. He accuses me of things like informing him and calling him a drunk in front of his kids. That was something I hadn’t done. I was attempting to safeguard Johnny. At the time, it didn’t feel right to communicate that with his daughter or anyone else.

Amber Heard went on to say that another episode of assault by Johnny Depp occurred during the boat ride. To the court, she said:

He pushes my neck against the cabin wall. And holds me there, telling me he could fucking kill me and that I was a disgrace. Amber Heard many detailed instances with her ex-husband this week, including a “cavity search. ” The Pirates of the Caribbean actor allegedly tore her clothes off. That “shoved his fingers” inside her while searching for his drugs. She also claimed that Johnny Depp kicked her on a flight in 2014, among other things.

Johnny Depp alleged that Amber Heard abused him during his earliest testimony, revealing an audio recording of the actress admitting to “striking” him. Amber Heard’s lawyer requested that the defamation case be dropped before taking the witness, but the judge denied the motion. And forced her to test this week.
